Wiped out

Really. I spent the entire morning at the dentist (9:30 to 12), with my mouth held open by biting down on a wedge device. That whine of the drill! Shrill, then that dull, down-in-the-mines grinding. Mysterious requests: color B3? no. Fill it with the double zero? passed back and forth between the dentist and his assistant.

Asking me: Bite. And . . . OPEN. Bite again . . . and . . . OPEN.

I'm ground down, in more ways than one.

But I have two temporaries. So there's that. And no pain at the end of it all, so I love my dentist. I really do. He even gave me a little chit for a free milkshake, because I couldn't eat. (Although I hate to go to see him.)

Two more down; how many to go?

  1. Sorry about your dental visit. I went to the acupuncture today (no pain) but I saw a dead kitten in the road! a Tuxedo kitten!!!! that made me feel horrible.

You need to take a restful few days at Chez Chedwick.
We go for ice cream, too ! No think about Dentist or dead cats. Just think heppy thoughts,

ugh...hope you feel better...but glad you have a good dentist...that reminds me to ask more in depth as I need to go to a good dentist that won't gripe that it has been 'a while' since I have graced their doorstep....

  4. I like that photo!

I used to be so afraid of the dentist and now I don't mind him at all - a good one makes all the difference, though mine doesn't give me any chits.

  8. Ouch. My least favorite thing in the world. I've never had good visits to the dentists-there is always something to work on.

  9. my sympathies.... but at least you love your dentist....I have a difficult time loving any dentist even if they are nice.... all I can think of is all the trauma I was subjected to as a child - I had rotten teeth (or probably poor eating habits) and lots of cavities..my cavities problem ended as I matured and stopped eating sweets, but as a result I've had to endure several time consuming and expensive crowns because old fillings fall apart. yes, yes I sympathize greatly
