Raisin bread

Another recipe from The River Cottage Family Cookbook. L's first attempt at breadmaking, and except for some advice on kneading time, I stayed out of the proceedings.

The text and picture:

L's loaf:

The offspring got good oven spring, no?

  3. It looks great!

I ate an incredible amount of raisin bread as a kid--it was my fave. I haven't had homemade in decades.

Will L. be making hot cross buns next spring?

  7. Wow, it's beautiful! Baking scares me. I'm a good cook, but once flour is involved, things tend to get ugly.

I love The Zuni cookbook, too. Best piecrust recipe evah!
