reentry . . .

A very few photos, for now, of my week away.

We dropped L here, for her week of experiencing life in a dorm while taking a music class, during which she got very expert at using her subway pass. My phone would ring, and she'd be in Union Square. Then, a little while later, she'd be at the Met. I think it was a good week for her; she was sad to go.

I got to visit and walk with a very generous, kind, and interesting blogger indeed; here is one picture from an amble (one of a series, actually) she took me on along the river.

And a Fourth in the backyard, with an excellent aspect on the fireworks:

welcome back home and to the cyberhood - glad your l had such a good time that it was sad to leave (and excellent sign for things to come) and how sweet that you were able to amble along the shores of the mighty hudson with ched!

hope reentry is smooth....am sure your kitty is so happy to be home and have her/his family back!

Kimy: Both cats seem to have caught a "cold," as the counselor said. Poor Bear is not up to speed. I think I or D will need a word with the head honcho about this.

OOoooh Fireworks that you don't have to travel for. Excellent. I hope Bear and Soul are OK -- the vet should sort them right out. It may be the end of an allergic reaction--I've had a cat sneeze for 4 days straight and by the time the vet appt. came he was fine again.

I wanted to kidnap Tut Tut and keep her. It's so hard to cram getting to knwo you into just so many hours.

I am in funky mood (nothing to do with anyone) but for some reason the world feels off kilter and the fires in Calif. are worrying me more than normal. I know there's nothing I can do about it. but... that and a lot of other depressing world events have got me feeling negative and useless sort of.

Wish I could be back up in that wonderful guest room; so many books I wanted to read, and so many pictures to look at. And the town to poke around . . . I hope there will be a next time.

Oh -- shoot ! I meant for you to take some books-- whatever you wanted, if you recall any you wanted to read, I'll send them.

I just bought and read a two -novella book (Hardboiled & Hard Luck by Banana Yoshimoto) The first is a lovely ghost story --even as I was buying it I was thinking 'Tut Tut would like this!'

It's always with mixed feelings that we drop our kids off at camps and campuses ... I am glad she and you had a wonderful time.

my mom left her cats at the same vet for boarding last week and one came home with a cold and now the other one has caught it. hmmm... wonder what kind of virus they have going around there. i'm going to let her know about bear & soul and she'll be calling them too.
