Today, L is 17! In honor of this momentous day, she has put together some of her favorite things. (I'm using the time to remember her sweet babyness. Helen, I think you know exactly where this photo was taken!)

What a wonderful birthday salute! At 17, she has developed such eclectic tastes. BRAVO!! And 17 more and 17 more and 17 more and 17 more and on and on.
Many happy returns. You must be so proud.
Happy day, L!
(Great idea for a birthday post, btw.)
Wow - I think I would get along very well with L.
I can't tell you how much I like that middle song video. I want to BE her!!
Did you happen to see the "I Capture the Castle" movie? Wonderful and I have no clue why it was rated R. I could have shared it with my 10 year old daughter.
Happy Birthday to L!!
jgh:
we have the DVD of I Capture the Castle; I can only think the the brief revealing of Topaz's breasts garnered the R. Ridiculous.
I like this list too!

fun birthday post - it's been good getting 'to know' l a bit.... but have come come back as there's so much here....I just realized now that e is 29, I'm missing out on being up on music....I had no idea of who eraser is or the third music vid....
happy Sweetly 17. love, e.
Skins? Hey, you're not from these parts.
I made a happy birthday film for L. I will e mail it to you.
L has a full scholarship offer to Chedwick U. and she can run the sno cone machine if she wants to. (everybody wants to, she gets first dibbs if interested.)
what a great post - and v. nicely eclectic range of likes and interests.
happy happy birthday L!
Wow, I love that Googoosh song! You've inspired a future post on my own blog...
Love the first picture, it evokes memories familiar to all of us, I think. Oh, those were the days. Have a happy day :)
What a lovely idea to do that and when you both look back on this you'll both smile fondly.
A really nice tribute to her first seventeen years on this planet! And something she likes too!
I have a 17-year-old girl too, so we have that in common along with Obama!
This was a neat birthday tribute. I may steal the idea from you. It's a nice way to recognize a family birthday without too many personal photos.
This post reminded me that "My Family and Other Animals" by Gerald Durrell is one of my favorite books. Must reread. Has L read it? It's lovely and funny. Happy birthday to a wonderful 17-yo.
Wonderful post!
I love the Eraser vid.
Do you watch Skins with her? I watched the first series with my youngest (now 19.) Brilliantly written & acted and, for a parent, very educational!!
Happy Birthday, L.
