I'm very eager to see this movie-- I'm a crier so I'll be sure to bring tissues! The performance at the Academy awards was amazing. (Well, everything on the Academy awards was amazing this year!)
I've been away from the theatre too long! I did read up on this and it looks pretty good. Then again, if it involves musiacal numbers. I'll watch it! :)
I want to see it too, maybe I can go with JGH. I cried a little during "Finding Neverland" and "Brokeback Mtn" but a lot of other people were too, so I felt I was among kindred spirits.
I've been looking for a few good movies to watch. I love movies. Almost as much as I love books! They transport me away from current worries and allow me peeks into other viewpoints and lives.
I've also heard 'Slum Dog Millionaire' which I have not seen yet, has gorgeous cinematography.
havent seen it yet but everyone I know who has says it's wonderful. I just hope it's little stars have managed to carve a path for themselves outside the slums!
well darn it! I came back to watch the youtube and the video has been taken off the shelf. apparently it infringed on the copyrights of twentieth century fox! you'd think they'd have better things to do than surf youtube and file copyright claims - especially when it's free advertising for the film !!!!
alan - thanks for the Slumdog plug. One recommendation can be 'fishy' - two cements the deal for me. I'm easy that way. snickers.
Hi tut-tut. I liked the film- and I didn't. I thought the concept was clever and the setting was a feast for the eyes, but i didn't think the acting was, dare I say, that great - I mean not like 'Ralph Fiennes great'. I was entertained whilst watching it for sure, but when I compared it to other 'great' films, it didn't stand up for me.
I feel like I have just put my head up above the parapet!
@Cinnamon. I think films are also judged in the context of what is going on in the world at the time and think this one is so well received because everyone is feeling a bit like a slumdog now a days.
