Theme Thursday: Traffic

This is about all the traffic I care to see:

I honestly couldn't come up with much on traffic. Working at home, I experience none of it. In fact, I hate traffic and the interstate so much, that I usually plan an alternate route the parallels the highway when I have to go somewhere. There is so much to see out there besides the exhaust of the cars and trucks in front of you

L had a cello lesson a few summers ago, and instead of taking 75, I hugged it and was able to see the lake, and an absolute gem of a vegetable garden, whose progress I could see every week.

But I DID remember this group. Maybe you do, too . . .

Depending on where I park at work, I either take the highway or the back roads. I must admit, I love the back roads more - not just due to the lack of traffic, but due to all the sights you see. Thanks.

Definitely a favorite Traffic song. In looking at the photo posted, I realize you're in northern KY? My husband and I lived in Lex while he attended UK. We have close friends in Ft. Mitchell.

I am with you...avoiding the faster traffic-filled way for the scenic...even if it takes longer.

Love that you can enjoy a "gem of a vegetable garden." It is the simple things...

I read the book Blue Highways in college and then drove across country on old state roads, although there are some places where you HAVE to take the highway.

I wonder how many of us posted songs by traffic.... and I wonder how many will be represented!

I don't have to take part in rush hour, either. Cool video, though!

Okay, you nabbed "Low Spark..." so I'll stick with "Here Comes a Man" on my own theme post. Heh, heh! I think there's gonna be a lot of Traffic videos today!

One of my favourite tracks. Becky, my friend in high school had a rather cool Dad and he introduced me to it when we used to stay over at her house.
In fact it led to a pretty lengthy love of Steve Winwood .

Ah!! LOVE that song, though I haven't thought of it in ages. So haunting...perfect for the season.

I too avoid traffic at all times, or at least whenever possible. I don't know how people with a regular commute do it, do you?

thank you for all your comments. I am a victim of the flu (H1N1?) and feel like I've been run over by a lots of traffic :(

Ah, a Traffic song...nice. I forgot about them. I see we agree on taking alternatives too...

Sending warm wishes to a tut-tut with flu. Stay in; stay in bed; stay warm.

I'm with you 101% on the traffic thing. Many, many cities have got completely out of hand with noise and pollution.

London now has walkit.com
'the urban walking route planner'

Traffic song: imho the best is the wonderful one of Jonie Mitchell, 'Big Yellow Taxi'.

So prescient. However, just down the road I have a little park that is an ex-you-know-what park

I've been spending a lot of time in traffic. Such a waste of time - not at all my favorite thing. Thank god for Sirius radio.

The traffic where I live is getting worse by the hour, it seems...

I hope you feel better soon, Tut-tut...Lots of tea and rest.

I loved that song back in the day -- thanks!

For years after we started spending time at the lake (rural area, 75 miles from metropolitan area) one of my favorite things was to listen to the traffic reports during rush hour... and smirk.

Wish I could work at home and not have to sit in traffic twice a day, the only thing which punctuates working with the Troll Bitch from Hell! This is the second Traffic clip I've seen this morning. I'd forgotten how good they were.

Heh! LOTS of Traffic today. Good stuff.

Flu? Oh, dear. I hope you're feeling better by now. Aren't you glad you aren't expected to drag yourself to the office, though?

Coming from the DC area I grew up with horrendous traffic - shoot, I used to commute from Northern Virginia to the Pentagon every day - what a nightmare. Now that I'm in the Midwest traffic is a little lighter but not much. I long for a small town without the nonsense of a gazillion cars in my way. Hugs!

I can't bear traffic, and don't know what to do in it, really! I'll rather stick with the elephants crossing the roads over here :)

I'm not much on it either - I liek a nice open road.

You chose the road less traveled on
And that has made all the difference.

Happy TT

Mr Winwood Rules!

Heh. Happy memories!
Was thinking bout Winwood just the other day - we saw a support band do a superb cover of 'keep on running.'

Hope you're starting to feel better, tut-tut. Sorry you've been poorly.
