Snow!

Yes, we did get snow, which shut down everything! This is the South, after all, so we do have our milk and bread, just in case we're here for the duration. Luckily, it didn't start snowing until the wee hours; if it starts snowing while people are shopping, carts of groceries are often abandoned as people run out to flee home.

L stayed home from school, and we all got to sleep late.

But Soul is taking advantage of the fireplace, which you can't see in this picture, glowing behind him. Bear is enjoying looking out at the snow but won't go out, as we've seen a vulture out in the woods. Soul here is a heavy-weight, and unlikely to be carried aloft.

The reason the photos look so good, here and in the previous post, is because L took them! I don't know why I didn't credit her.

Snow always stops everything here in England, taht and leaves on the lines (railway lines, trains delayed)!

I remember those snow days in the South, when everything shut down at the first sign of flakes. The big issue was the school bus routes - apparently in some rural areas the roads were barely passable on the best of days, never mind mixed with ice and sleet. We were always happy to have a break from school! And in England, they stop the trains if it snows.

I'm amazed that people abandon their shopping trollies if it snows. Does it fall so quickly even in the South?
Soul looks very cosy. lovely photos, L.

We didn't get any snow! I was so hoping for a snow day to stay home and put a pot on!

When we lived one year in Scotland, it was snowing during one day in February and two days in April. Everything was in confusion. My children laughed, when a school bus did not come and it was so little snow. But then we realized, that they did not have prepared for snow as we have to be here, where snow time lasts usually five months, this year perhaps now only four months and they have four or five days :)
Never free days from schools or works because of snow here.
But Soul has picked out the best place.
