Not ANOTHER New Year's Eve post. Certainly not

I do resolve to change certain habits, for instance, sitting hours on end in front of the computer, without getting out for a walk. This is my priority: move. Editing on the desktop isn't even as active as the old paper-pencil variety, although I can still heft the Webster's 11th one handed. Spending the better part of a morning or afternoon getting to/participating in/returning from Pilates or yoga is something else I really need to consider. Is all that time really worth it? And the money? Especially when I can practice yoga here with a bit of discipline. I'm also trying my mightiest to stick with my resolve not to buy any superfluities that I brought up on an earlier post. There is so much stuff here: books, CDs, clothes, shoes etc. etc. that should go off to the second-hand bookstore/Goodwill/wherever else to be gotten rid of. All in all, I want to lighten my load, physically around me as well as on my person.

I keep every book I've read, unless it's no good. This is not good for reducing clutter.

I had to leave so much behind in the move from RI to PA two years ago that "stuff" isn't an issue at this point. I do need to learn to manage my time better, though.

I would love to lighten my load. One would think that with the girls gone, our house would be emptier, but instead it has become a repository for emptied out apartments that they are not living in any more.

Happy New Year!

Betty: sheets and comforter cover are in the washing machine as I write this. Lots of clothes in various stages of packed/unpacked, getting ready for the big flight next Tuesday!

Oh goodness - I spend way too much time sitting at the computer. We also need to declutter here :(

I can agree with Betty too - too much sitting and too little moving except those days now and then when I have been looking after Melissa 5 and Mikael 3 years :)
I wonder why our house is so full of things even all children have left us years ago! I have tried so hard to lighten my load as you say but no success - now I decide it again step by step.
But we have to be careful, you can find out that L will come after five or ten years and ask: "mom, where this or that thing could be I would like to get it now" ;)
