Thinking . . .

It was a week of funk, I'd say.

I needed a different perspective.

Driving down and taking a class shook some of the webs away, but the oppressive film still clung.

Making pasta helped; so soothing, starting with the volcano ring of flour with the lava of eggs in the middle, beating and gathering with my mother's favorite little fork. Kneading it all up into a smooth ball, letting it rest. Then rolling it out; finally cutting it with my little pasta cranking machine. Then hung up to dry on a dowel.

Sometimes, it's just one day, one step.

Physical activity can sometimes take over; then I can get into the rhythm of the doing, rather than the worry and doubt.

Plus, I made dinner out of all of it . . . so there's that aspect.

oh, your pasta looks lovely. i made some a couple of weeks ago and that volcano of flour was not nearly high enough to keep all my eggs in. i was chasing yolks and whites all over the board for several minutes before it all came together... you have inspired me to make some more.
hope the dinner helped the funk to lift.

Good morning Beth!
Doing intensively something difficult enough helps and making pasta like you seems difficult enough to me taking away any kind of bad feelings :)
Say to L, that examen is very easy thing, because then she have to remember only those things, which are asked, everything else can be forgotten and it is a lot !!!

You cat does not look happy that you interupted his nap.

My only pasta venture was a lumpy mess. It will be Barilla from now on.

Hey there's nothing like doing something active is there? My garden is crying out for treatment after all this neglect.
Sorry I've not been over lately. Since getting back I have been struggling with above garden and visiting friends and relations.

Anyway, back now for a few weeks. The little heron was captured and tagged and on a line so he couldn't get away. He looked so sad I wondered whether I could liberate him when no-one was looking but didn't get the chance.

Love Lorenzo.

Getting out of routines -- even just taking a walk -- is a good thing. Creativity can be prodded.

So... did I miss something? Was the driving test a go?

I find it very relaxing to kick back with a drink and watch someone else cook...

Is there a grey, depressing spring going on where you live? That's what we're going through and "funk" is a good term for it.

My girls and I got into a major attic reorganization project today. That felt good.

I love the perspective of your very laid back kitten (great photo to illustrate perspective). The pasta was probably wonderful. Hope all is well with you.
