I took a little break the other day to watch
on the computer, and the last piece of music reminded me of Cat Stevens. Those (me, and L, and D, always are the last to leave the theater) who sit through movie credits are rewarded: it was the Incredible String Band's Little Cloud. I pawed through my CDs, and found it: The Chelsea Sessions 1967. But where, oh where, is The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter?! It's around here, somewhere (I hope). Roy, do you remember/know this group? A little research showed they were at Woodstock, which I hadn't known.

That looks like it is going to be a really good movie. I think I will have to watch it on my TV so that I can pause it to read the subtitles.
I cannot think that I ever heard of that band, enjoyed the music.
God bless.
I was aware of them, but in retrospect rather than as a contemporary fan. I'd heard a couple of their tunes when they were at their peak, and I thought their album covers and public image were incredibly "trippy", but they didn't impress me at the time. It was when I heard Pentangle (and I was a huge fan of Pentangle, and still am a big fan of Bert Jansch) that I saw the similarity, and in retrospect I realize that ISB was the catalyst that set the British folk-rock movement going, producing Pentangle, Fairport Convention, and others. Still not a big fan though; their music is a bit too self-conciously "medieval" to appeal to me; it sounds somehow contrived. I like my medieval music genuinely medieval.
that looks like a nice, very bourgeois garden those folks have got there...
Summer Hours is sposed to be good. Rohmeresque, I hear.
I just read something about a novel that's coming out with a similar premise. The movie looks good - please tell me those locales aren't exclusive to Europe. Looks like their location scout had a blast!
