Interactive Tuesday

I had a visitor; actually there are two here. There was a territorial dispute (at least, I think that's what it was) and they both ended up on their backs. One righted himself, and then worked very hard to right the other, who remained firmly withdrawn in the shell. I came back 5 minutes later, and both had vanished.

We had a pet turtle when I was a kid that lived under the house. One day, he disappeared.

This is a test. I wrote a long comment and blogger wouldn't let me post it.

Seems funny that a turtle that is fighting another one would help it turn over, but I guess you can't take over someone's territory if they're stuck on it, right?

Five minutes can be a really long time. Depending.

is this a turtle or a tortoise?
or are they the same thing but with different names?
when I was little in UK, a neighbour had a family of tortoises who lived all year round in a walled garden. I loved being lifted up so I could see over the wall trying to spot one of the tortoises among the flowers.

JULY 1: Happy CANADA Day, everyone! You may not be aware that it's Canada's 144th birthday today, and Will and Kate are in Ottawa to help us celebrate. Actually, we don't need help, but it's great to have them here!

Hi! Great little clip of the tortoise (well, that's what I think it is anyway!) Interesting that the one was trying to get the other one the right way up!

This is better than the turtle I found at the end of my driveway. The poor thing was crushed and dried out. Really disgusting but interesting too. I hope I hadn't run over the poor little thing.
