What do you say

when a wonderful person, for whom you've prayed and lit candles and cried for, calls you unexpectedly to say she is going into hospice. And sounds so chipper and asks after you? I wonder if what I had to say was good enough.

IIn such a situation I belive that your words are not the most important think, more imposrtant is your precence, letting your friend know that you are there for her/him.

Blessings and Happy Ney Year.

I believe the fact that this friend called you in such a time shows that you have already said the right things...

Sounds like one of those situations wherein you feel like nothing you say is good enough - but you voice and words may have been a lot.

Being there, answering the phone, loving in silence, praying as you have, wondering about what you said... your friend knows the message of your heart and it has brought her healing: the gift of not holding on to fear.
