Thursday theme: Home

When I think of my house, I think of home. I feel lucky to have it to live in. It is comfortable, has bookshelves, a kitchen I like to cook in, a backyard that borders on woods, for the cats.

My house has a mortgage, which makes me uneasy. It makes me wonder about ownership in general.

When I think about my true home, in the sense of belonging, I think of the place I lived in when I was in high school, not necessarily the house that I lived in, but the town itself.

It is beautiful, very peaceful looking, and the woodlands make it all the more valuable.

mortgages are a pain it's true, but so is a landlord sometimes, so it's a toss up, isn't it? When you get a good landlord you can stay put for awhile, and with mortgages, we can choose to buy small less pricey homes.

your home looks and sounds as if it's a lovely for humans and cats!!

what's that old saying 'home is where the heart is' - perhaps it's a little trite, but I find it very true.

I would love to visit you at your home and have you visit me at mine...there's lots of great music the cleveland area - and some wonderful places for music study (thinking of L & her interest!!)...oberlin, the cleveland institute of music, and so on!)

I like the stonework on the front of the house, and I'm a sucker for ivy, too. I once dreamed of living in a house completely covered in ivy, so it looked more like a large shaggy green hill than a boxy house.

Hey, I'm sorry I did not realize you participated and am late getting here.

Your home and its border look and sound very nice indeed.

And a mortgage is daunting, when you get down to it.

I really like your house. I worry about mortgages too and the fact that the bank could take our home if things didn't go well.

I like the stonework very much and like you worry about mortgages and security generally.
Apart from my home I always think of my mother's house as home even though I've never lived there..
